Mom's message to us...
We learned on June 23rd, 2000 (her birthday) that mom had lung cancer. Four short months later, she was gone. As we packed mom's house, Colette said, "How are we going to get through Christmas without her". Our answer arrived within minutes as I opened a box and found a hand written note from mom...

Mom's message to us....
Always Remember Christmas.... As I look down on the Christmas scene below, it makes me feel so proud to know that my little family hasn’t forgotten that this is the day, so many years ago, on a cold winter’s night, the little Christ child was born. When I see their pretty decorations so shiny and bright, I know they remember how Christmas filled my heart with joy. Christmas, that wonderful night, trimming the tree with tinsel and gold, then sitting back to look at that wonderful symbol of God’s birthday shining in all its glory. As I look down tonight watching my children’s faces, I’m happy to see their decorated window and trees and I know that Santa won’t have any trouble finding their houses tonight. I know that Christmas will never leave their hearts just as it lives always with me. Wouldn’t it be an awful thing if we ever let Christmas die in our hearts? No joy or wonder to hear those sacred words,` “Silent Night, Holy Night”. How could we ever close our hearts to the thrill of preparing for Christmas, shopping in busy stores that shine in wonderland anticipation of that wonderful day to come? So please, don’t ever let your heart be too heavy or callous at this sacred time of year. Let the joy of Christmas live forever in your hearts just as all of you will live forever in mine.
